Do I need any gym experience to train with Ruairidh?
No — you don't need any gym experience to train with Ruairidh. Every session is built around where you are now, and most of his clients started feeling exactly the same way you do right now. Your first session is about understanding you, not testing you.
What does the free consultation actually involve?
The free consultation is a 20-minute chat at PureGym Altens where you tell Ruairidh what you want to change and he tells you exactly how he'd approach it. There's no pressure to book on the day. It's a conversation, not a sales pitch — if it doesn't feel right, nothing happens.
How quickly will I see results?
Most clients feel a difference in energy, sleep and mood within two to three weeks. Visible changes to body composition typically appear from weeks six to eight. The real shifts happen across a full 12-week block — Ruairidh isn't here to sell you crash-diet numbers that disappear by March.
Can you help with nutrition as well as training?
Yes — nutritional guidance is one of Ruairidh's core specialisms. Every personal-training client gets support around eating habits that actually fit a real life: food shopping, meal prep, and the odd Friday takeaway without throwing the week away.
Do you train women as well as men?
